McFarlane Autographed NHLMcFarlane giving collectors what they want with limited edition autographed figures.

I have to admit I was a huge fan of the McFarlane figures back in the day.  I have some on display and still have about ten of them tucked away in my closet.  For some reason I grew tired of them and would only grab one every few months and it had to be a player I really liked.  Looking at some of the upcoming releases and hearing that they are going to start releasing limited edition autographed versions, I may just jump back on that bandwagon again.

Over the weekend at the Toy Fair, McFarlane unveiled some of the upcoming NHL figures that will be released as part of the Collector Level Program.  The Collector Level program, announced last September, would see everything from alternate/limited edition jerseys to autographs and game used swatches.  Basically Todd McFarlane wanted to give hard-core collectors something to add to their roster.  There are six types of figures as part of this Collectors Level.  They have Bronze, Silver, Gold, Premier, All-Star and MVP.  Each level has a limited production.  Almost every standard figure will have a Collector Level or standard chase figure.

John Tavares, Mike Cammalleri, and Jonas Gustavsson will be part of the NHL 24 release in April.  The Tavares figure will have a limited edition autographed version (200 to 400 figures) that will be sequentially numbered.  There is no increase in price so it should be interesting to see how collectors scramble to find these versions.

Team Canada figures are available now at Walmart Canada (exclusively).  You can grab Sidney Crosby, Jarome Iginla, and Roberto Luongo.  There are red versions and a collector level figure in their white jersey.  These figures are limited so you may want to go grab them before they disappear.  I popped by to take my chances and they just happened to have one Sidney Crosby in his white jersey.  All the rest were Iginla.  No Luongo which was disappointing, but I will keep my eyes open.  I included the back of the figure to show you the Collector Level Program for the Team Canada figures.

Apparently there are some big names going to be released under the Collector Level Program, so make sure you keep your eyes open for them and check back soon as we will keep on top of this one.
